About
Anthony Violi’s passion for weather blossomed on his father’s 90-acre strawberry farm in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, which he ran with his brother until the beginning 2017.
Working on the farm before and after school from the age of 8, he quickly understood the weather’s power over people on the land.
3 decades of Australian weather experience
For the past 30 years, Anthony has developed an expert understanding of Australian weather conditions, using computer modelling, as well as exhaustive research into 130 years of historical data.
Track record for accurate, long-range forecasts
Anthony’s reputation for trusted, long-term forecasting is growing rapidly. His prediction six months prior to the 2010 flooding in South Australia and Victoria boosted his following on Facebook to more than 3000.
And then there was the deluge on SA’s Eyre Peninsula in March 2016, which Anthony predicted 3 weeks earlier, while a well-known weather service forecast just 1mm of rain in the region for that month!
Today Anthony has more than 17,100 Facebook followers and dozens of new subscribers sign up to his weather service every week.
After providing free weather advice on weather forums and via Facebook since 2001, he launched AV Weather in March 2016 to help more Australians make weather-dependent decisions based on his personalised advice.
For Anthony, he’s driven to make a difference to the livelihoods of people who rely on the weather around Australia.
